A diferencia de los sistemas tradicionales, este modelo utiliza dos claves matem\u00e1ticamente relacionadas pero computacionalmente distintas: una clave p\u00fablica que puede compartirse libremente y una clave privada que debe mantenerse en secreto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Este paradigma, introducido por Whitfield Diffie y Martin Hellman en 1976, resolvi\u00f3 el problema fundamental de la distribuci\u00f3n segura de claves que afectaba a los sistemas sim\u00e9tricos.
